Apologies for being incommunicado for the past 4 days, internet has not been accessble up in the mountains in Livingstonia, Malawi. I managed to summit Chombe mountain peak in just over 8 hours. We stayed at the mushroom farm, which is located right up on the hilltop of chitimba. For the first time we decided to pitch our tent which was quite nerve wrecking on the first night as it rained cats and dogs, thankfully our tent did not let up and we managed to survive the night dry. We set off for Tanzania yesterday afternoon- after stopping over at a reggae resturant for sadza and a deep political discussion about the current situation in Malawi with the proprietor. The crossing off the Tanzanian border was seemless much to my surprise as the East African books i read had all intimated that winning the lottery was much more easier than getting past Songwe border.
